Des Mitchell – The Mitchell Project

A professional DJ & presenter since 1982, Des began his career with soul & reggae and joined BBC 1982 & 4 years for Radio WM Birmingham. A 1985 trip to Tenerife changed everything. After 4 years in Canaries he was headhunted by BCM Mallorca via DMC UK and he was to be with the company as their 7 day a week DJ resident for 18 years playing alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Tony Humphries, Dave Morales, George Morel, Roger Sanchez, Sister Bliss, Tall Paul, Sasha, Armand van Helden, Tongy, Laurent Garnier, Bob Sinclar, Paul Oakenfold, Tenaglia, Felix the Housecat, Todd Terry, Robin Shulz, Jonas Blue, Jax Jones, Calvin Harris, Stolen Goodze, Duke Dumont, Eric Morillo (rip) CJ Mackintosh, Deep Dish & the list goes on..

Home base has been Mallorca, He’s has had the pleasure of working in Japan for Avex records spending a year living out there plus trips back & forth. Toured Europe for Ministry London, Ministry Taiwan & 2 months for Ministry of Sound Singapore.

Des was also a DMC mixing competition winner in UK 86. 87. 88 and that has had him tour Estonia, Finland, India, Sweden, USA New York, Guam, Miami, Canada, Austria, Germany east & west, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Malta, Dubai.

His winters since 2012 are taken by Six Sense Lamu in Maldives. Des calls it ‘his paradise on earth’
