SolarTrak (aka Ian McGonagle) is a house music producer, remixer, and DJ from Essex, UK. With deep roots in music—his father a guitarist and brother in bands—Ian picked up guitar at 12 before diving into DJing at 18. Trading his Stratocaster for turntables, he found his groove in early '90s house and UK garage, debuting as DJ Makka.

His first break came on Essex pirate station Force FM, where he honed his DJ and radio skills. In 2004, Ian self-released his first vinyl—a UK garage rework of Isha D’s “Stay”—moving over 700 copies independently. As his sound evolved, so did his aliases: HouseFly, FatFly, and eventually SolarTrak.

From deep and melodic house to Progressive and Tech House to more recently Rave House, Ian’s versatility has led to global releases on labels like Notting Hill Records, Songspire, Champion, and Let There Be House. His ongoing radio presence includes The Guest House Podcast and a weekly DAB show on Shine 879 DAB.

In 2024, he launched a new alias, NUCL3U5, with Stuart J (The Acid Brothers), blending rave, hardcore, and jungle influences into a fresh house sound.
